Every fighter pilot is trained to recognise hypoxia symptoms. But recognition depends on the very judgement that hypoxia removes first. Today, recognition still rests largely on feel and on trained individual signs. When something goes wrong, there is rarely any record of what.
HypoGuard™ turns two invisible threats into a warning the pilot can act on, and a post-flight data record that takes away the guesswork.
HypoGuard™ doesn’t replace hypoxia training. It provides an independent warning when the pilot can no longer rely on instinct.
Today, the means of warning a pilot of approaching hypoxia, and of determining what actually happened after a suspected event, are both very limited.
The symptoms resemble each other. The correct responses are opposite. Misidentifying the condition can make the situation considerably worse.

The device is mounted between the mask and the breathing hose. It needs no aircraft integration, no wiring and no interface with any other system. Should it ever fail, the pilot is simply back to today's situation. Nothing is taken away.

Pressurization failures are rare. They are also hard to notice, because the first thing thin air takes is your judgement. CabinGuard uses the barometric sensor already in your phone to estimate cabin altitude, and warns you if it climbs past where it should be.
It is not certified aviation equipment and is not connected to the aircraft. It is intended only as an additional advisory aid and must never replace the instructions of the flight crew or the aircraft's certified systems.
Warnings escalate in steps: a change of light, then a change of rhythm, then vibration through the mask. Seconds of margin, when seconds are all that is left.
The complete log is downloaded over USB after landing and read in a browser. What happened, in what order, and under what conditions. No one has to reconstruct it from the pilots memory.
Oxygen supply, respiration and load, flight after flight, pilot after pilot. Alarm levels are set by the operator's own medical authority, not by us.
Light hue, intensity and blink rate, and the vibration pattern, are all selectable. In night vision mode the indication drops to an extremely low light level while the tactile warning is retained in full.
Live readouts and graphs while connected, the full flash log afterwards, and the warning profile itself, all from one panel, on whatever laptop is at hand. Alarm levels, light intensity and the other indication settings are configured here, so the device can be tailored to the individual pilot. A demonstration of the software is available on request.
